Our Book Club and Book Fair have become fantastic environments for encouraging pupils to read and share that experience with their friends.

In Scoil Naomh Eoin we run a Book Club called the Setanta Book Club.

Usually it is run by a few sixth class pupils and Ms. Kerins.

Three times a year we give out Book Club leaflets to the pupils.

• They decide which books they would like to buy,
• fill in the order form and return it with the correct amount of money to the organisers
• who then order for the whole school online.

A few weeks later the books arrive. The excitement is tangible……you can feel it!!

On top of the feel good factor of receiving your shiny new book(s) in school you are also contributing to buying new books for your class. How does this happen????

• We get 25% of the paid order back to spend on new books for the school!! Each classroom is allowed between €50-€100 per class to buy new books. The amount of course depends on how big the order is originally.

We have been successfully running the Book Club since 2000.
